Did You Know This About

Lindsay Friedman

Lindsay began her journey in caregiving as a nursing assistant, working across memory care, assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice. Early on, she believed she was headed toward a nursing career after finishing her business degree. Not long into the program, she realized she had a deep discomfort with blood and needles, making nursing an unrealistic path. She stepped back and rethought her direction, continuing to volunteer in these settings out of passion. This realization ultimately led her to change career paths, becoming a published author and venturing into tech entrepreneurship, founding two companies—learning through a first startup failure and a second that concluded with an asset acquisition.

Shortly after the birth of her daughter, Lindsay experienced a serious injury that left her unable to walk or drive and dependent on others for daily activities for almost two years. Suddenly, she was the care recipient—relying on family, friends, and even a professional caregiver at a time when she had expected to be doing the caring. That experience gave her a profound perspective on vulnerability, dependence, and the give-and-take inherent in caregiving.

Several years later, Lindsay became her grandmother’s primary caregiver—a deeply personal experience that reshaped how she understands what families face. Later, she became a cross-generational caregiver, supporting her parents and caring for her chronically ill daughter, bringing both perspectives to every decision she makes.

These professional and personal experiences ultimately became the catalyst for founding CareBloom, a caregiver support tool, and LTCareNav, a care navigation and life care planning platform that helps families plan ahead, understand care costs, and connect to trusted experts before a crisis hits.
